·October to March is the ideal window — dry, pleasant and festival-rich.
·Early December brings the Konark Dance Festival and the International Sand Art Festival together.
·June–July is Rath Yatra season: extraordinary, but crowded and humid.
·July–September monsoon turns Simlipal, Daringbadi and the waterfalls spectacularly green.

·Fly into Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar (BBI) — the main gateway.
·Bhubaneswar and Puri are major railway stations on the East Coast Railway.
·NH-16 and NH-316 connect the temple triangle with smooth, fast roads.
·Within the state, a private car with a driver is by far the most practical option.

·Leather items, mobile phones and cameras are not allowed inside Shree Jagannath Temple — free lockers are available outside.
·Non-Hindus are not permitted inside the Jagannath Temple sanctum; the Raghunandan Library rooftop offers a respectful view.
·Cover shoulders and knees; carry a light shawl or dupatta.
·Remove footwear well before the entrance and avoid pointing your feet toward shrines.
·Accept Mahaprasad with your right hand; do not bargain at Ananda Bazaar.

·Odisha is among India's safer states for travellers, including solo women travellers.
·Mobile coverage is strong on the coast; expect patches of no signal in Simlipal and Bhitarkanika.
·Carry cash for forest zones, boatmen and village markets — UPI works almost everywhere else.
·Avoid swimming beyond marked zones at Puri; the undertow is strong.

·Budget travel: comfortable stays and shared transport from a modest daily spend.
·Premium: 4-star sea-facing hotels, private sedan, guided monuments.
·Luxury: resort suites, luxury cars, private boats and scholar-led heritage walks.
·Forest zones add permit, entry and guide charges — always quoted upfront.

·Winter (Nov–Feb): light layers for the coast, a warm jacket for Daringbadi and Deomali.
·Summer (Mar–Jun): cotton, sunscreen, hat and an electrolyte supply.
·Monsoon (Jul–Sep): quick-dry clothing, waterproof bag, sandals with grip.
·Always: modest temple wear, mosquito repellent, socks for hot temple stone floors.
